Bio

Born in 1990, Rosslyn was brought up in Kintyre, Scotland; firstly in Tarbert and then Campbeltown. After graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee, she ran a studio gallery in Campbeltown where she painted, taught art classes and hosted exhibitions.

In 2015, she moved to Glasgow to further her art practice and pursue other creative endeavours. Her subsequent Post Grad. in Stage and Production management introduced her to the world of theatre where she was employed to make props, design sets and undertake some sound projects. These skills segued in to the Film and TV industry where she has been working in Art Departments since 2017. Projects include feature films, short films, TV Dramas, Comedy and Commercials. Balancing busy film schedules with painting left only enough time to make commissions and sell privately through her studio, but more recently her priority has been painting and exhibiting in galleries again. Focussed on producing new exciting work, Rosslyn currently paints from her studio in Glasgow after a semi-hiatus.

Inspired by natural surroundings and the characters that make places unique, her paintings depict a variety of subjects and techniques to describe personal moments and experience. Shifting between thick impastos and puddles of stain or playing with realism and abstraction; the properties of paint provide Rosslyn endless opportunities to experiment and surprise.

Her work has been exhibited across the UK and features in the public collections of the University of Dundee, the Rendezvous Gallery in Aberdeen and a growing number of private collections throughout Europe.
